Introduction
Cracks of Reality is a fractal image rendering application for Mac OS X. Its focus is on high quality rendering of images to be used as desktop background pictures. It is not designed for exploring fractal sets (use XaoS for that), but instead allows you to import parameters from other fractal programs.
Cracks of Reality is still under development and should be considered "beta" quality software. Many planned functions are still missing, but what is there mostly works.
The current version of Cracks of Reality requires Mac OS X 10.3.9 or later. It is built as a "Universal Binary", meaning that it will run at native speed on both Intel and PowerPC based Macs. The rendering engine is written in plain C, and there are plans to release a portable command line version at some point.
Download
The current version is 3. It is available in binary (ready-to-run) and source (for modification) forms:
- Cracks of Reality 3 Universal Binary (240K disk image)
- Cracks of Reality 3 source code (191K .tar.gz)
